Action Plan for Thankfulness (Colossians 3:12-17)

Gearl Spicer Gearl Spicer, November 26, 2023
Part of the Others series, preached at a Sunday Online service

Colossians 3:12–17 (Listen)

12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

ACTION PLAN FOR THANKFULNESS
Colossians 3:12-17
11/26/23

What are the issues that matter most to you?

*Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the
Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.vs.17

Challenges we must address:
1. Position of our heart
2. Source of our peace
3. Understanding of His Word

“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” Tim Keller
