Part of Finding Our Way Home

12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Sermon Notes

Colossians 3:12-13
Father’s Day

What traits do you remember about your father?

Our lives intersect between the loads we carry and the load we release!

*Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

*Then Peter came and said to Him, Lord how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times? Jesus, said to him, I do not say to you seven times, but up to seventy times. Matthew 18:21-22

*Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone, just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Colossians 3:13

Bear—endure with no intent to retaliate
Forgive—to extend grace beyond our feelings

To find our way home…..we must make 2 defining choices:

I will bear my load—
We are chosen by God to clothe our hearts
We are guided in our hearts by key traits

II. I will forgive—-
We release our hearts to serve effectively when we forgive
We deal with our complaints by seeing Jesus correctly

*These choices release us to an extraordinary life guided by His love

Will you make these 2 defining choices?
