Matthew 7:24-29

Build Your House on the Rock

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

The Authority of Jesus

28 And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, 29 for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.

*Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.vs.24

*Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who build his house on sand.vs.26

*When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.vs.29-29

*Inside His authority He elevates expectations and direction in every believer’s life as they live in obedience to HIm-

*The power of Jesus will help us withstand any trial or storm coming our way

*A home built on doubt and unbelief will ultimately fall-

Live inside the beatitudes—Matt. 5:3-12
Live as salt and light—Matt. 5:13-20
Live in purity and purpose—Matt.5:21-48
Live in intimacy and insight-Matt.6:1-15
Live as a treasure through peace-Matt.6:16-34
Live inside the narrow gate—Matt.7:1-23
Live on the Rock-Matt.7:24-29
