Building a Great Testimony

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously in the present age.” Titus 2:11-12

Everyone has a testimony. Each of us testifies to our legacy every day. To everyone we encounter. We make the choice each day to display a worldly or a Godly testimony, one or the other.

If we’re to share a valid, Godly testimony we know we must follow God’s directions, read and study His word.

We must deny ungodliness. By “deny” God means to intentionally move away from anything that would detract us or take us away from what God desires for us. The world intends to do anything to draw us away from our relationship with God. We need to vigilantly watch and listen for warnings of anything that would lead us astray. Even a momentary pursuit of a worldly desire can set in motion a deadly legacy.

To secure a valid, God-honoring testimony, live a three dimensional life.
Live righteously. Let your life be lived out for the goodness of others. Relate to others in effective ways.
Live sensibly. Allow your life to be led by the internal work of God in your life.
Live Godly. Live the life that has been transformed by God. Be willing to move out as God has called you.

PRAYER: Father, we live in a world that constantly distracts us and tempts us to make ungodly choices. God, give us Your strength in our weakness. Warn us, O God, when we’re on the brink of compromising our testimony with things of the world. Help us to be loyal to our calling. May our testimony always reflect the love, mercy and grace of Jesus living in us. In His Precious Name we pray. Amen.
