Grace Beyond Your Imagination (Titus 3:4-8)

Gearl Spicer Gearl Spicer, May 31, 2020
Part of the Axis of A Living Faith series, preached at a Sunday Online service

Titus 3:4–8 (Listen)

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

Titus 3:4-8

*If someone reflected on what they saw in you would it be grace?
*Grace leads to a life changing encounter with the One who loves
You perfectly and grants you the privilege of a right relationship with Him!

*Grace motivates us to do something with our lives that counts!

*Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and
Patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
Romans 2:4

*…so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of the His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus….for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…Ephesians 2:7,10

*But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of our deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy…..Titus 3:4-5

Three distinct realities about His grace that carries us beyond our imagination and aligns our hearts for a living faith!

I. Realize His grace empowers us: Titus 3:4-5
A. Kindness - He looks beyond our sins to see our hearts
B. Love - He grants us the opportunity to experience unconditional love
C. Mercy - “God’s mercy is bigger than any mistakes you ever make!”

II. Granting access allows Him to equip us - Titus 3:6-8a
A. Operate in your inheritance
B. Speak confidently

III. Decide to engage in fulfilling His purpose - Titus 3:8b, 14
A. Good deeds - actions of our hearts
B. Pressing needs - the cry of every heart without Jesus

Will you embrace these three realities?

If so, please read: Isaiah 54:8,10, Hebrews 10:24, Titus 2:7, 14 and 3:1
