Proverbs 3:5–6 (Listen)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.

(ESV)

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (Listen)

3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

(ESV)

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (Listen)

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

(ESV)

Ecclesiastes 5:1–5 (Listen)

5:1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil. Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few. For a dream comes with much business, and a fool’s voice with many words.

When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.

AXIS OF A LIVING FAITH
Trust Beyond Your Understanding
Proverbs 3:5-6, Ecclesiastes 3:1,11, 5:1-5
May 24, 2020

*Do you find it hard to trust beyond what you see?
”TO PERSEVERE WE NEED A PICTURE OF THE FUTURE BIGGER THAN OUR PAIN.”
The real challenge of trust is:
*Often times life unfolds in a different time frame than our preference
*Seldom do answers come easy which leads to frustration
*Our battle internally to find the assurance we need

*Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and do not lean on your own
Understanding. In ALL your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make
Your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

*There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every
Event under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

*He has made everything appropriate in His time. He has also set eternity
In their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done
From the beginning even to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

*Guard your steps as you go to the house of God and draw near to listen
Rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools; they do not know they are doing
evil. Ecclesiastes 5:1

Three challenges to lead you to a deeper level of trust:

I. Anticipate the appointed times - 3:1
*Commit to live in obedience during every stage of life -

II. Accept the appropriate - 3:11
*Be intentional to engage your heart in life -

III. Remain attentive in His house - 5:1 - 5
*Get ready now to enter His house again -
A. Insightful wisdom
B. Spiritual discipline
C. Holy commitment

TRUST IN HIM - SEEK HIM - REST IN HIM - WAIT FOR HIM - FEAR HIM
