Empowering Victory

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him. 1 John 5:1

Think for a moment about your relationship with Jesus today. Who is He in your life right now? Have you talked with Him today? Have you fallen at His feet with your burdens today? Have you invited Him into your day? Are you in His presence right now? How about yesterday? Last night? Think about others in your life? Is someone else getting more attention than He is? Do you love someone else more than you love Him?

The answers to these questions will determine how the rest of your day (life) goes. Will your day (life) be one of empowering victory? Or will someone or some circumstance or tribulation capture your attention or your affections? If you have an overcoming faith, you don’t have to let anything or anyone control you or claim victory over you today.

You can enjoy empowering victory over your day. And the method you use is the single most important principle Jesus ever taught: Love God; love one another. The more we love Jesus, the more we can love others. How do we love God? By keeping His commandments; “and His commandments are not burdensome.” 1 John 5:3. How do we love others? By falling in love with Jesus. Make Him your focus today. Talk with Him today. Walk with him today. Work as if for Him today. Parent your kids through Him today. Allow Him to handle your difficult circumstances today. Trust Him today. The more you love Jesus, the more you can love others. He can empower you to win over all your challenges and circumstances and relationships today.

Heavenly Father, we come to you today inviting you into our presence. Inviting you to deal with our daily activities, our challenges, our trials, our difficult relationships. Help us, O God, to love one another today, as you have commanded us to do. And as we draw nearer to you today, Father, you have promised to empower us to love one another as Jesus taught us to do. Praise you, Father. Amen.
