Grasping a Complete Joy

Let’s face it, we often settle for less. We get in a big hurry or we think we need something right away. God has given us an incredible opportunity to be still and to listen to Him and believe we should not settle for anything. Did you know that He desires we have joy in even the most difficult of circumstances? Every challenge we face is a chance to experience real joy. Joy is a deep delight transcending any situation.

Take a look at three scriptures that relate to joy in our lives.

“These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.” -John 15:11

“Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.” -John 16:24

“But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.” John 17:13

When we look to these verses, we can see the He has provided us with three links to life full of joy in Him.

The first principle is that the secret to a fruitful life full of joy is to learn how to abide with Him. Spending time with Jesus is key to this principle. How do we accomplish this – read His word and develop a healthy prayer life.

Secondly, as believers we must love through Him to learn the power of obedience. When we obey, we understand how impactful His love can be. That brings joy.

Finally, yielding to Him through prayer in our daily lives is paramount to living a joyful life. Prayer is our pathway to joy and is certainly an answer for anxiety during these difficult days.

Joy is the decisive choice to align our lives with the axis of a living faith that chooses not to focus on present problems but eternal purpose!
