1 Thessalonians 5:14-22,24
How can we be sure that we don’t quench the Spirit during these days? How can we be sure that we don’t take the energy out of all that He is doing and speaking to us? From this passage, we know that we must do three major things:
We must be sure to maintain sensitivity to the things around us. The Holy Spirit will keep us sensitive to what He is doing!
We must examine carefully that we’re not making assumptions. Don’t assume anything from all that you are hearing. Let God be the One who speaks to us and guides us!
Verse 24 says that faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. The power is His! Faithful is He! He calls us! We have to hold fast – embracing completely all that He has for us. We must rejoice, pray and give thanks without ever stopping.
Make a commitment to get things done for Him! Don’t ever assume that you can’t. In all things, give thanks. Be sure to document your gratitude, being keenly aware of all that He is doing. Don’t let the saturation of information steal the joy of your walk with him. Only saturate yourself in His word and the power of intimacy with him.
In closing from this passage, if we are contagious about giving thanks, about His peace and love, then it will connect people to Him. Spend this week being thankful and grateful for all He has done!
